Planning a surprise proposal can feel overwhelming — especially when you’re trying to organise everything without your partner finding out.
You might know exactly what you want, or you might have no idea where to begin. Either is completely fine.
With more than 150 proposals planned and captured, The Perfect Moment is here to guide you through the entire experience.
From choosing the perfect New Zealand proposal location and creating your vision to coordinating suppliers, styling, timing and discreet photography, we’ll make sure everything comes together behind the scenes.
Here’s what you can expect when planning your proposal with us.
The Process
01. Tell Us About the Two of You
It all begins with your enquiry.
Tell us about your partner, your relationship, your ideal proposal date, where in New Zealand you’ll be and anything you’ve already imagined for the moment.
Don’t have a location or idea yet? That’s completely fine — helping you figure that out is part of the process.
02. Let’s Create Your Proposal
Once we understand what you’re looking for, we’ll help you choose the proposal experience that best suits your vision.
You can select one of our existing proposal experiences or work with us to create something completely bespoke.
Once you’re ready to move forward and your booking is confirmed, we’ll begin bringing the details together.
03. The Planning Begins
Now we get into the details.
Depending on your chosen experience, we’ll work through your location, styling, suppliers, timing and all the little logistics needed to make the proposal happen seamlessly.
For destination proposals, we can also coordinate the planning with you before you arrive in New Zealand.
You’ll know where you need to be, when you need to arrive and exactly what to expect — while your partner remains completely unaware of what’s waiting for them.
04. We Take Care of the Details
While you’re keeping the biggest secret of your relationship, we’ll be working behind the scenes.
Depending on your proposal, this may include coordinating venues and suppliers, preparing your styling, monitoring weather conditions, finalising timings and making sure your photographer is perfectly positioned before you arrive.
If plans need to change, we’ll help navigate that too.
The goal is simple: when the day arrives, you shouldn’t be worrying about logistics.
05. It’s Time to Ask the Question
This is the moment everything has been leading up to.
Your photographer will already be in position, your proposal will be ready and you’ll know exactly where to go.
Take it all in. Say what you’ve been wanting to say. Get down on one knee.
And hopefully hear that very important YES!
We’ll discreetly capture the surprise and all the emotion as it unfolds without interrupting the moment.
06. Celebrate Being Engaged!
Once the initial excitement settles — at least a little! — we’ll continue with a relaxed couples session to capture your first photographs together as fiancés.
If you’ve added highlight videography, your proposal will also be captured in motion so you can relive the reactions, excitement and emotion all over again.
Then it’s time to celebrate, tell your family and friends and start the next chapter together.
